David H. Flanagan Sr., 64McMinnville resident and Cookeville native David H. Flanagan Sr., 64, died unexpectedly Sept. 3 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center.A mechanic for 25 years and a member of the Baptist Church, he served in country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.The son of the late William and Elizabeth (Kirby) Flanagan, he was preceded in death by sisters, Treva Duke, Nancy Helm, Betty Smith and Bobby Flanagan, and grandson, Peyton Lockhart.He is survived by the mother of his children, Brenda Flanagan of McMinnville; daughters, Kimberly A. Flanagan of McMinnville, Shawna D. and Jeremy Brown of Tullahoma; sons, David A. Flanagan of McMinnville, Paul Flanagan of Detroit, Mich., and David H., Jr., and wife Dana Flanagan of Miami, Fla.; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and grandchildren, Kaylan Brown, Emma, Michael, Zackery and Tyler Flanagan.Services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at Gardens of Memory Funeral Home with Carl Tucker officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. View Cemetery with graveside rites administered by VFW Post 5064 and American Legion Post 173.
