Claudia Jo Hallum Stanton, 89, a McMinnville resident and DeKalb County native was born March 1, 1925 and died May 23 at River Park Hospital following an extended illness.
She was a homemaker and member of Dibrell Church of Christ and daughter of the late Charles Stenson and Lula Louis Austin Hallum. She was married Nov. 15, 1945 to Frederick Maynard Stanton Jr., who preceded her in death Oct. 7, 2007. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by brother, A.P. Hallum.
Mrs. Stanton is survived by son, Charles (Denise) Stanton of the Centertown community; two daughters, Jeanette (Dannye) George of the Centertown community and Peggy (Garry) Adcock of McMinnville; six grandchildren, Christa George Wood of Memphis; Tracy Adcock and Jamison Stanton of McMinnville; Kelli Adcock Taylor of Murfreesboro; Stanton Adcock of Nashville and Jordan Stanton of Spring Hill; six great-grandchildren; sister, Lucy Hallum of McMinnville and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at DeKalb Cemetery in Smithville. Wayne Cantrell will officiate. Visitation will be 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday at High’s.
High Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
