McMinnville resident and Warren County native Carrie Elizabeth Priest Stubblefield, 90, was born Jan. 28, 1929 and died Nov. 3 following an extended illness.
The retired owner/ operator of Stubby's Dry Cleaners, a longtime employee of McMinnville Civic Center, and a member of Westwood Church of Christ, she was the daughter of the late M.W. and Lucille Meadows Priest. She was married June 1, 1947 to Hugh L. "Stubby" Stubblefield, who preceded her in death. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers Ward and Chuck Priest, and brother-in-law Louis Madewell.
She is survived by three children and spouses, Hugh Wayne and Francisca Stubblefield of Kissimmee, Fla., Pat and Wally McClarren of McMinnville, and Dale and Teresa Stubblefield of McMinnville, seven grandchildren and spouses, Lisa and Randy Barber, Ginger and Bob Young, Angie and Russell Dodson, Brent and Misty Warren, Shannon and Charlie Martin, Candace and Dee Jay Roland, and Catherine and Jon Bryant, 13 great-grandchildren, sister Anne Madewell of McMinnville, sisters-in-law Jo Dean Ward, Jean Priest, Judie Woodlee, and Jane Stubblefield, all of McMinnville, and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service and interment will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 6, at Mt. View Cemetery with Hugh Wayne Stubblefield, Wally McClarren, Dale Stubblefield, and Brent Warren officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m. at High's. There will be no public visitation Wednesday. A special thanks to the following caregivers, Bernita Myers, Renee Neal and Sue Tanner Cantrell.
