Hopkinsville, Ky., resident and Baltimore, Md., native Carl Thompson Jr., 46, was born April 13, 1966 and died Feb. 18 at Jenny Lynn Stuart Medical Center in Hopkinsville, Ky., following an extended illness.He was the son of Carolyn Preslar of McMinnville and the late Carl Thompson Sr. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by uncles, Gary and Jack Southard; and aunt, Marilyn Southard.In addition to his mother, he is survived by one brother, William Kenneth Collins of McMinnville; one sister, Tamara Renee Collins of Cleveland, Ohio; aunts and uncles, Ronnie and Eileen Southard of McMinnville, Freeland Southard of Madison, Ohio, Debbie and Todd Calvert of Madison, Ohio and Pam and Leslie Mitchell of McMinnville; and several nieces and nephews also survive.A graveside service and interment will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday at Mt. Zion Cemetery with Dean Northcutt officiating.
