Bobby Wayne Muncey, 62, of McMinnville died Sunday, Dec. 11 at his residence after an extended illness.He was born in McMinnville on Aug. 26, 1949, a son of the late Letha Mae (Basham) Muncey and John Muncey.He is the husband of Mary E. (Tinker) (Speights) Muncey of McMinnville and was a pastor for 29 years and a member of the Independent Missionary Baptist Church. He worked in the timber industry and served in the U.S. Army as a Spec 5 in the Vietnam War.He is survived by his wife; daughter, Treva G. Jaco Martin of McMinnville; son, John C. Muncey of McMinnville; two sisters, Dorothy Simmons of Spencer; Jennie D. Mahaffey of McMinnville; brother, Johnny Jr. Muncey of McMinnville; five grandchildren, Dusty Jaco, Shani Jaco, Jacob Martin, John Blathen Muncey Woodlee, and Lucas Hunter Muncey.The family will receive friends at Freedom Missionary Baptist Church on Highway 56 South today from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., the time of the service. Ronald Powell will officiate.
