Rock Island resident and Warren County native Bobby Ray Farless, 62, was born March 24, 1949 and died Dec. 11 at his residence following a two-and-a-half year illness.An employee of Burroughs-Ross-Colville Company, a U.S. Army member who served in Vietnam, and a member of the Church of Christ, he was the son of the late Thurman and Ella Mae Gibbs Farless.He was married March 2, 1974 to Starr Woods Farless of Rock Island. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two children and their spouses, Jimmy Ray and Alicia Farless of Manchester, Kimberly Mae and Daniel Snyder of Algood; four grandchildren, James Cody Farless and Amos, Carter and Isiah Snyder; brother, J.P. Farless of Rock Island; three sisters, Katherine Bouldin and Carolyn Butcher, both of McMinnville, and Wanda Brown of Beersheba Springs; and several nieces and nephews.Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. today in High’s Chapel with Bob McCoy officiating. Burial will follow at Crain Hill Cemetery in Van Buren County with full military honors administered by the VFW Post 5064 and American Legion Post 173.
