Billy Dale Simmons, 79, a McMinnville resident and Coffee County native, was born Sept. 17, 1937 and died Dec. 3 in NHC Healthcare following a brief illness.He was a veteran of the Tennessee Army National Guard, retired shipping clerk with Powermatic, member of the Church of Christ and son of the late Joe and Ethel Elam Simmons. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by wife, Jo Helen Parsley Simmons; and two sisters, Edna McClain and Clara Mae Davis. Mr. Simmons is survived by daughter, Angela Collins of McMinnville; brother and sister-in-law, David Earl and Joyce Simmons of Livonia, MI; and several nieces and nephews.Funeral service was held Tuesday, Dec. 6, at High’s Chapel with Tim Long and Terrell Bunting officiating.
