Morrison resident and Warren County native Bessie Mae Bouldin Smithson, 79, was born July 12, 1941 and died Oct. 31 at NHC Healthcare in McMinnville following an extended illness.
A retired bookkeeper with S&S Industries, a longtime 9th District County Commissioner, and a member of Pleasant Knoll Church of Christ, she was the daughter of the late Everett and Cleo Kell Bouldin. She was married to Jack Smithson, who preceded her in death on June 24, 1999. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by twin brother Jesse Rae Bouldin, four brothers Winford, James, D.L. and A.P. Bouldin, and sister Gladys Bouldin Blanks.
She is survived by brother and sister-in-law, Carl G. and Marcia Bouldin of Viola, three sisters-in-law, Eva Sue Bouldin and Christine H. Bouldin, both of the Vervilla community, and Beth Bouldin of Viola, brother-in-law John Blanks of McMinnville, two sisters-in-law Jean Smithson of Nashville, and Catherine Foreman, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service was held at 1 p.m. Monday, Nov. 2, at High’s Chapel with Jerry Finney officiating. Burial followed at Bascom Cemetery.
