Agnes Dean Melton Byrd, 87, of McMinnville died Sunday, Aug. 25 at Rain Tree Manor Nursing Center in McMinnville.
She was born Nov. 17, 1925 in Cannon County and was a retired employee of Magnetek Century Electric, and a member of Arlington Church of Christ.
Mrs. Byrd was preceded in death by her parents, William and Mary Ford Melton; her husband, Fred Byrd; her sisters, Pauline Francis, Ann Roden, and Cindy Carmene Gunter Turner; and a brother, William Melton.
Survivors include a foster daughter, Julia Kenney, Doyle; and her brothers Horace Melton, McMinnville, and Clebren Melton, Murfreesboro; many nieces, nephews, family members, and friends.
Funeral service was held Tuesday, Aug. 27 in the McMinnville Funeral Home Chapel. Wayne Cantrell officiated. Interment followed at Blues Hill Cemetery. Online condolences may be made at www.mcminnvillefuneralhome.com.
