Agnes Dean Melton Byrd, 87, of McMinnville died Sunday, Aug. 25 at Rain Tree Manor Nursing Center in McMinnville. She was born Nov. 17, 1925 in Cannon County and was a retired employee of Magnetek Century Electric, and a member of Arlington Church of Christ. Mrs. Byrd was preceded in death by her parents, William and Mary Ford Melton; her husband, Fred Byrd; her sisters, Pauline Francis, Ann Roden, and Cindy Carmene Gunter Turner; and a brother, William Melton.Survivors include a foster daughter, Julia Kenney, Doyle; and her brothers Horace Melton, McMinnville, and Clebren Melton, Murfreesboro; many nieces, nephews, family members, and friends.Funeral service was held Tuesday, Aug. 27 in the McMinnville Funeral Home Chapel.
