Tickets are now available for “The Little Mermaid,” the first stage production at the historic Park Theater June 5-7.
A cast of 35 actors, both local and international have been rehearsing long hours for the production. “The Little Mermaid” adapted by R. Eugene Jackson with music by Carl Alette, will feature sea creatures, sailors, and of course, our favorite fairytale princesses. The show will run approximately 90 minutes.
Some of the cast members include: Princess Anemone played by Mileah Milstead, Sea Witch played by Slovakian exchange student Alexandra Faybikova , Clem Clam played by Brooklyn Barton and Livia Brewer; and Prince Theodore played by Blade Campbell.
The production will feature elements like lighting, sound, costuming, and effects that this area has never seen. The show’s director Logan Taylor says he is thrilled with the response from the community.
“When I moved back to McMinnville, my goal was to inspire innovation and bring a level of forward-thinking to the town that would really create a movement,” Taylor says. “I was apprehensive because it is such a small community, but this town has shown me that it is ready for the arts. They have welcomed us with such open arms!”
Dream Realty Group, created by Taylor, is all about embracing youth for who they are, and creating a safe place for them to express themselves. Taylor has extensive experience, both on stage and behind-the-scenes. Working on nearly 20 professional and community productions, he has developed a style of directing and producing that is unlike anything in the area.
