Steakley selected as Jr. Miss McMinnville North America

Alibeth Steakley has been selected as Jr. Miss McMinnville North America. With her selection, Alibeth, becomes the official representative for the city of McMinnville as she will represent McMinnville at the state pageant in Oak Ridge on Aug. 19.
The winner of the state Jr. Miss Tennessee North America will travel to Orlando, Fla. in June as the official representative for the state of Tennessee competing with girls from all over North America.
Tennessee North America Beauty Pageant is the official state preliminary to the national North America Beauty Pageant promoting beauty, style and cultural appreciation, which in addition to crowning Jr. Miss Tennessee, Miss Teen Tennessee (15-19 years of age) crowning will take place.
Both Jr. Miss and Miss Teen Tennessee must single, and never given birth. A Miss Tennessee North America will also be crowned, being 20-29 years of age. Miss contestants may be a single mother, be married, widowed or divorced. There is no registration or entry fee to enter the Tennessee North America Pageant, however, delegates must meet all eligibility requirements to compete,
Alibeth will be competing in interview, fun fashion and evening gown as she competes for the state title. Delegates competing for Jr. Miss Tennessee North America must reach her 12th birthday, but not her 15th birthday by the date of the national competition.
Alibeth is a sixth-grader at Warren County Middle School, and lists her favorite subject as science, with experiments being her favorite part of science. She enjoys skating, riding her bike and spending time with her family. She is the granddaughter of Johnnie Rhea.
Tennessee North America Pageants are held in conjunction with the Miss Tennessee U.S. International Pageant, and Miss U.S. International/Miss International State Preliminary Pageant. Miss International is one of the big four pageant in the world, having the distinction of being the third largest pageant in the world.

Christmas spirit on parade

Rob Nunley photo The Morrison Elementary Cheerleaders won both the school sponsored division and the people's choice award at Saturday's McMinnville Christmas Parade.

The McMinnville Christmas Parade was held Saturday, featuring 107 entries and lasting approximately one hour. Winning in the business category were Ben Lomand Connect, first place; Prater's BBQ, second. 

Church/civic group/community organization/large non-profit winners were Warren County Sheriff's Office, first; The Vine Baptist Church, second; and Smartt Assembly of God, third. 

School sponsored winners were Morrison Cheerleaders, first place and people's choice award winners; Motlow State Community College, second; and F.C. Boyd Christian School, third.

Small club/non-profit winners were Girl Scout Troop 839, first; Ride N Drive Club, second; and McMinnville Saddle Club, third.

Horse rider club/mule or horse and hitch winners were Saddle Club, first; and Bruce Bush, second.

Antique car winners were Ride N Drive Club, first; Ryan J. Moore, second; and Frank Bond, third.

Most Unusual Vehicle winners were Ride N Drive Club, first; Donald Schott, second; and Tom Davis for Congress, third.

Winning the best band category was the Warren County High School Marching Band.
