“The Secret Garden” will be presented at the Arts Center of Cannon County on March 7, 8, 14, 15, 21 and 22 at 7:30 p.m.; and on March 9 and 16 at 2 p.m. The program is based on a novel by Frances Burnett.
Mary Lennox, played by Mackenzie Turney, is a young orphan sent to England to live with her reclusive uncle and sickly cousin. When this neglected child discovers an equally neglected garden, she begins to bring life (and a bit of magic) back to both the garden and her uncle’s manor. This lush Broadway musical won three Tony Awards, including Best Score of a Musical.
“The Secret Garden” features the direction of Scarlett Turney, music direction of Becky Hayes, and choreography by Brad McCrary. The cast includes David Cummings as Archibald Craven, Scott Willis as Neville Craven, Brittany Goodwin as Lily Craven, Matthew Pyles as Dickon, Mileah Milstead as Martha, and Sarah Oppmann as Colin.
