Lauren Elizabeth Mansfield became the 24th Little Fairest of the Fair Tuesday in the annual pageant held in conjunction with the Warren County A&L Fair.
The 9-year-old is a student at Centertown Elementary who enjoys traveling, reading and learning Spanish. Her parents are Mike and Brandie Mansfield.
Mansfield caught the attention of the judges with her natural beauty, but won them over with her on-stage question. She was asked “What would you change about your school?”
Her reply was, “I would change the school lunches, because I think they need to be more filling. I need the energy to get good grades.”
Joining her in the royal court are Breelyn Carolin Hillis McGee, daughter of Wesley Hillis, and Chase McGee, first runner-up; Lily Jordyn Rains, daughter of Johnny and Tonya Rains, second runner-up; and Sable Ellen Winfree, daughter of Kent and Lisa Winfree, third runner-up.
In addition to the court, a Top 20 was chosen by the slate of three judges. They include: Miranda Medley, daughter of Bill and Laura Medley; Abbigale Lynn Judkins, daughter of Brandi Gipson and the late Cory Judkins; Macie Newby, daughter of Craig and Sadie Newby; Hana Jade Parsley, daughter of Jason and Misti Parsley; Gracie Beth Morton, daughter of Rick and Toni Morton; Chloe Nicole Rogers, daughter of Marcus and Mary Beth Taylor; Christa Cowan, daughter of Carrie Cowan, and Chris Cowan; Karigan Rae Smith, daughter of J.B. and Sherri Smith; Eden Chance Wilson, daughter of J and Ginna Wilson; Annie Elizabeth Lassiter, daughter of Jodie and Jennifer Lassiter; Kyleigh Ramsey, daughter of Dewayne and Candy Ramsey; Ryleigh Faith Bouldin, daughter of Gary and Linda Black, and Jennifer Bouldin; Carmen Verdel, daughter of Cynthia Huber, and Ivan Verdel; Keira Rain Reynolds, daughter of Blaka and Nikki Reynolds; Aspen Adams, daughter of Lee and Jamie Adams; and Kalia Nevaeh Stewart, daughter of Heather and Hobie Stewart.
Following the presentation of the Top 20, the list was narrowed down to 10, with those being asked an on-stage question by the reigning Little Fairest Olivia Jones and newly crowned Fairest of the Fair Emma Holmes.
The Top 10 list consisted of Reynolds, Morton, Judkins, Adams, Rogers and Stewart, as well as the court members.
Darryl Bouldin served as the master of ceremonies for the event.
