Vinson’s Crossroads FCEC met Oct. 20 at 11 a.m. in the Magnolia Room. The meeting was called to order by president Frances Hobbs and she introduced Irene Fuston as a guest. The devotional was given by Alda Bandy, who read 1 John 4:16, and Wilma Davenport led in prayer.
The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Hobbs. Secretary Lori Yates read the minutes from the Sept. 15 meeting, which were approved. Treasurer Davenport gave the financial report. Roll call was answered with the name of a bird that does its best work during the nighttime hours, with 11 members and guest.
Becky Phillips and Violet Turner gave the wellness and health report on gluten. Hilda Lytle gave the program on finding healthy foods at the supermarket, and also ways to prevent stress. Bandy distributed a homemade craft to all members and guest. Reading reports were given by Bandy, Naomi Smith, Phillips and Yates.
Hobbs read a thank you note from the Fisher House for the donations made by our club. Hobbs shared a list of the items that are needed by the women’s homeless shelter.
Our next meeting will be held on Nov. 17, followed by a lunch outing. At 1:30 p.m. our members will meet at the McMinnville Board and Care to play bingo with the residents. Members were reminded to bring prizes for bingo.
The meeting was adjourned after the Club Creed was read.
