Crothers claims crown

Lauren Ashley Crothers’ beauty, style and grace paid off Saturday as she was crowned Miss Warren County in the annual scholarship pageant sponsored by the Queens for a Cure Foundation. She was crowned by the reigning Miss Warren County Melanie Grace Rush. 
Crothers is the 17-year-old daughter of Melany and Michael Crothers, and is a senior at Warren County High School.
She was also honored with the Best Interview Award, after her time with the judges. 
Others in the court include: Chelsey Brooke Simerly, daughter of Jamie and Stephanie Simerly, first runner-up; Bailey Hayes Griffith, daughter of Steve and Kristi Slatton, and Nathan Griffith, second runner-up; Kelsey Taylor Lawrence, daughter of David and Dena Upton, third runner-up and Miss Photogenic; and Haile West Adams, daughter of Gina and Larry York, and Randy Butcher, fourth runner-up. 
Other honors awarded during the pageant are:  Miss Congeniality, Kara MaKenzie Page, daughter of Rhonda and Aaron Cope, and Scott Page; Presidential Award, Raven Adriana Dixon, daughter of Mitzi Ramsey, and Eric Dixon; Presidential Award Honorable Mention, Rachel Elizabeth Miller, daughter of Philip and Lisa Miller; and People’s Choice, Salina Renae Wanser, daughter of Linda and Shannon Taylor.
Class beauties include: Omykale Ityisha Ramirez, daughter of Alvaro and Buffy Ramirez, freshman; Kari Michelle Haston, daughter of Steve and Stacey Webb, sophomore; Karlin Jade Cantrell, daughter of Allen and Kami Cantrell, junior; and Robbie Tarin McBride, daughter of Angie and Johnny McBride, senior. 
Contestants receiving additional recognition are Breanna Claire Foster, daughter of Margie and Howell Foster, prettiest hair; Kaitlin Nicole Lawrence, daughter of Dena and David Upton, prettiest eyes; Ciara Rae’ Walker, daughter of Derrell and Melinda Walker, prettiest gown; and Graylin Clare Brock, daughter of Brad and Melanie Brock, prettiest smile. 
A Top 20 list was chosen by the judges, and in addition to the court, include: Raven Dixon, Eden Ann Fryar, daughter of Ron and Becky Fryar; Aprile Brooke Paz, daughter of Tony and Melissa Paz; Breanna Foster, Arianna Crutto, host student of Susan and Scott Hertwig; Heavenlee Hope Scott, daughter of Jamie and Dwight Bouldin, and Terry Scott; Karlin Jade Cantrell, Hilary Jade Teeters, daughter of Phillip and Shannon Teeters; Carly LeeAnn Newby, daughter of Mani and Rena Newby; Kaylyn MacKenzie Baker, daughter of Josh and Monica Baker; Blair McKenzie Fisher, daughter of Franklin and Leanne Fisher; Kaitlin Nicole Lawrence; Ciara Rae’ Walker; Meagan Renee Sandlin, daughter of Kevin and Kim Sandlin; and Robbie McBride.
Contestants making the cut to the Top 10 are: Raven Dixon, Arianna Crutto, Hilary Jade Teeters,  Blair McKenzie Fisher and Ciara Rae’ Walker.

Rob Nunley photo The Morrison Elementary Cheerleaders won both the school sponsored division and the people's choice award at Saturday's McMinnville Christmas Parade.

The McMinnville Christmas Parade was held Saturday, featuring 107 entries and lasting approximately one hour. Winning in the business category were Ben Lomand Connect, first place; Prater's BBQ, second. 

Church/civic group/community organization/large non-profit winners were Warren County Sheriff's Office, first; The Vine Baptist Church, second; and Smartt Assembly of God, third. 

School sponsored winners were Morrison Cheerleaders, first place and people's choice award winners; Motlow State Community College, second; and F.C. Boyd Christian School, third.

Small club/non-profit winners were Girl Scout Troop 839, first; Ride N Drive Club, second; and McMinnville Saddle Club, third.

Horse rider club/mule or horse and hitch winners were Saddle Club, first; and Bruce Bush, second.

Antique car winners were Ride N Drive Club, first; Ryan J. Moore, second; and Frank Bond, third.

Most Unusual Vehicle winners were Ride N Drive Club, first; Donald Schott, second; and Tom Davis for Congress, third.

Winning the best band category was the Warren County High School Marching Band.
