Come cruise the Collins River at Mad Musky Water Sports, a local destination for water recreation.

“It is amazing to be able to bring these opportunities to people and do what I love,” said Stacy Ellard, who grew up loving river life and now owns Mad Musky.

After moving to Tennessee in 2005, and owning property with the Collins River in her back yard, Ellard knew she wanted to bring that joy to others by providing them access to fun on the river and becoming a hot spot for summer recreation.

Mad Musky Water Sports offers kayak, tube, and canoe float rentals. People seeking water-based recreation can choose between a short 1-2 hour float, or a longer 3-6 hour float.

“Requests vary,” said Ellard. “Parents or groups with children seem to prefer a shorter float, while adults floating without children seem to prefer a longer float.”

Mad Musky also offers tent and guppy cabin camping areas, swimming, picnic areas, fishing, and an event venue. After the float, there’s a general store for snacks, drinks, and merchandise.

Prices for river floats:

Canoes - $50 per day with shuttle.

Kayaks - $20 for short float, $25 for long float. Both include shuttle.

Deluxe connecting tubes - $15 per day with shuttle.

Single tube - $10 per day with shuttle.

Off premises kayak rentals are $20 per day with cash deposit of $50, which is refunded on non-damaged returns.

Excursions are by appointment only at this time. To book a reservation or for more information call Ellard at (931) 743-7566 or 815-2FUN. Visit for more information.

Mad Musky is located at 1432 Myers Cove Road. Hours of operation are Sunday through Saturday 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.
