Yorozu America Corporation helped to significantly advance the Career and Technical Education Department at Warren County High School by donating $3,000 toward the purchase of five new welders.
Speaking for the Warren County Board of Education, Career and Technical Education Department, Warren County High School, and Agriculture Department, WCHS executive principal Jimmy Walker said, “We are tremendously honored Yorozu is willing to work with us to do this because we feel like this is a need not only to help our students but to help the community. This will hopefully put some kids out there in the workforce who can be used.”
Yorozu senior manager of engineering Bruce Hutchings presented the check to Walker and CTE director Tracy Risinger on Thursday, saying, “Yorozu is glad to play a small part helping our high school students gain a valuable skill. Welding is a very important process to us at Yorozu but it’s also useful in a number of industries.”
The $3,000 donation was used to offset the $9,000 cost of the welders. All Miller brand, the purchase included two tig/stick combo welders, two mig welders, and one plasma system.
The Career and Technical Education programs prepare high school students to enter the workforce, continue education at the post-secondary level, and enter society as well-rounded individuals ready to face the changing educational and work environments.
Program areas include agriculture, business technology, health science, and trade and industrial. The welders will be used in Agricultural Engineering, Applied Technologies, and Agricultural Mechanics.
