With yard sale season just around the corner, don’t forget permits are needed within the city limits and advertising with the Southern Standard can be a benefit no matter where the yard sale is held.
McMinnville code requires a permit be obtained prior to any yard sale. The cost is $7 per permit and can be purchased on the second floor of city hall in the Planning and Zoning Department.
Under the city’s current policy, only one yard sale is allowed per location every six months. Rain checks are allowed prior to the day of the yard sale and can be obtained the morning of the event, prior to any sales being made.
Draw attention to your yard sale by advertising in the Southern Standard. A 25-word listing is $6 per issue, with 15 cents for each additional word. Advertisers are also given two yard sale signs to help bring attention to their event.
McMinnville Planning and Zoning is open Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. For more information about yard sale permits, call 473-1204.
The Standard is open Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. For more information about advertising your yard sale, call 473-2191.
