A project originally scheduled to be finished this September is months behind schedule and is not expected to be finished this year.Delays in moving water lines have pushed the completion date for Beersheba Street Bridge back to the spring or summer of 2012, according to TDOT spokeswoman Jennifer Flynn.“They are having water line trouble and they are still negotiating about how to resolve that,” said Flynn. “The latest I’m hearing is they might hang the water line from the bridge, but I don’t think that’s definite.”According to the latest TDOT status report, “This project is substantially behind as a result of the problems with the utilities, most notably problems with the water line.”The contractor has built one half of the project, which is what motorists are seeing now. When that portion is complete, traffic will use it as a two-lane bridge.
