A special called session of the McMinnville Board of Mayor and Aldermen was held Wednesday night to vote on resolutions that would send Park Theatre and the Blue Building to referendum. Both measures passed 3-2 with Mayor Norman Rone, Vice Mayor Everett Brock and Alderman Billy Wood voting in favor of them. Aldermen Jimmy Haley and Rick Barnes voted against them. The two referendums will appear on the November ballot with registered city voters eligible to vote on the measures. The board was divided on who should decide if the projects will be done — the people or the ones elected to represent them.“If they vote it down, to me, the projects are dead,” said Barnes.
