Woman tells deputies she will open fire

A woman who held deputies on an armed standoff and threatened to open fire on the lawmen has been bound to the grand jury on felony charges and has been warned not to possess any firearms until her hearing.The woman, Wanda Gail Campbell, 54, was bound to the grand jury Tuesday by Judge Larry Ross following preliminary hearing on charges of aggravated assault and reckless endangerment. As a condition of her bond, she was directed not to have any firearms in her possession.Campbell was arrested after lawmen responded to her home on Grove Road near Viola. Neighbors reported Campbell had slit her wrists and had made threats she would kill anyone who came near her home.Sheriff’s investigator Kelly Carter said when he responded to the location he called Campbell who renewed her threat, noting she had a gun.“She said she would take us out,” Carter testified during hearing Tuesday.
