Woman gets two years for smuggling drugs

A woman caught trying to smuggle drugs into jail in her hair scrunchie has been sentenced to serve two years in prison.The woman, Jennie Sue Pleasant, was sentenced to two years in the women’s penitentiary by Circuit Court Judge Bart Stanley on charges of delivery of drugs and attempted introduction of drugs into a penal institution. She will also have to serve an extra 60 days and have her probation extended by one year because her new conviction violated her probation on earlier convictions on charges of delivery of drugs and TennCare fraud. She must also pay a $2,000 fine.Pleasant was heading to Warren County Jail to serve time she owed on an earlier violation of probation charge when her most recent legal problems began.
