A woman was critically injured Monday evening when she jumped from a moving vehicle on Dibrell-Lucky Road.
The victim, Alycia Hankey, 23, was airlifted from the scene of the accident to Erlanger Medical Center by LifeForce helicopter for treatment of critical injuries she sustained when she struck the pavement after falling from a moving pickup.
According to sheriff’s department reports, the incident happened around 5:30 p.m. Monday while Hankey was a passenger in her husband’s Ford pickup. Preliminary findings are that Hankey, who is under treatment for mental health issues, became angry for some reason and jumped or opened the door and fell from the moving pickup. The incident happened in front of 5679 Dibrell-Lucky Road.
A passerby confirmed the husband’s story, saying it appeared to him the woman was angry over something when he noticed them as he passed by just before her fall from the truck.
The incident has been ruled an accident by investigators.
