Local resident George Dolzonek served four years in the U.S. Navy and fought for his country in the Korean War. But despite his service, he had never seen the Korean War Memorial in Washington, D.C.That changed recently when Dolzonek had the privilege of taking part in a nationwide program called Honor Flight, a day-long tour filled with adventure. Veterans are flown into D.C., paraded around some of the city’s finest landmarks, and then whisked back home, all in the course of about 18 hours.“The one thing I’d like to tell veterans is if you haven’t done it, you need to do this,” said Dolzonek, 81.
