Wait over as fair books have arrived

The Warren County A&L Fair begins Sept. 6. Get the thrills started with a copy of the fair book.
“Yes, the fair books are finally out,” said Susan Burks, one of the fair organizers. “These books are the most sought after item of the year. People always want to know when they are out and where they can get one.”
This year’s book is a tribute to remembering “60 Years of Free, Family Fun” with the front cover a collage of pictures from past fairs.
Included in the book is a memorial page to Kevin Lawrence, who was president of the fair at the time of his death March 5. Comments about Lawrence were made by fair executive committee members Kenneth Medlen, Regan Kelsey and Mike Pelham, as well as the book’s designer Edward Wilhite.
Medlen says, “Warren County has lost a special person this year. Kevin Lawrence was a friend and devoted many hours at the fair. He would get there early and go home very late. He was always trying to make the fair the best in the state. He gave his all, expecting nothing in return. Kevin you will always be in my thoughts and in my heart.”
Copies of the fair book have been distributed to local banks, the Warren County Co-Op, the Extension Office, and Southern Standard.
