Two face drug-free zone charges

Two men face drug-free zone charges after they were arrested for drug possession in the downtown McMinnville area.The suspects, Ridge W. Price, 20, and Troy L. Perkins, 38, were charged with possession of drugs, initiating the process to manufacture meth, and violation of the drug free zone act. They are also charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor because an underage person was in their car.Their arrests come after Highway Patrolman Gary Myers saw the men exiting their car in the Hardee’s parking lot located on West Main Street in the downtown area. The trooper became suspicious after seeing a dealer tag displayed on the white Oldsmobile and decided to stop and inquire.“When I stopped to talk to the driver, he was found to the smell of alcoholic beverage on his breath and appeared very nervous,” Trooper Myers said of Perkins.It was at that time the trooper saw Price trying to conceal evidence.“He was observed trying to remove pills from his pocket and was arrested,” the trooper said of Price.
