There may be no shortcuts in a solution to ease traffic concerns at the intersection in front of Tire Mart. Safety Committee chairman Mike Neal says he was asked by Alderman Billy Wood to take a fresh look at an old problem at the intersection of West Main Street and Morrison Street.“Mr. Wood says he has nearly been in a wreck there and has witnessed several other close mishaps, but he is not here,” said Neal. “Does anyone know of any discussions that have gone on about that intersection in the past?”An island that was removed used to be somewhat helpful, says Alderman Jimmy Bonner.“There used to be an island there that separated traffic and it kept them in their lanes,” said Bonner.
