Thirty-seven people have been rounded up in the latest undercover drug-buying operation.“It’s kind of the same thing we’ve been seeing for a few years – a lot of meth and pills,” said McMinnville Police Capt. Derwin Adcock following the indictments that came as a result of the joint city, county and district attorney general operation.According to Adcock, the elaborate, eight-month operation involved undercover agents buy-ing drugs while they were electronically monitored by narcotics officers. Undercover drug buys have a high rate of conviction. In many cases, multiple buys were made from the suspects.Adcock said the lion’s share of suspects were street-level dealers, noting he knew of no local kingpins that were caught.“I think a lot of the names are familiar,” Adcock said.
