The Tennessee Department of Transportation has released its three-year Transportation Improvement Plan. Making the list is the final paving for the relocation of Nashville Highway.
“There is some very exciting news for Warren County,” said TDOT spokesperson Jennifer Flynn. “The Cannon-Warren project to resurface 12.5 miles in the relocation/ widening project made the list for funding in 2013.”
The new four-lane to Woodbury is being done in two projects in what TDOT calls staged construction.
• One project — Relocation of roadway from Centertown to Spring Valley Road, including construction of two concrete bulb-tee beam bridges, grading, drainage, and some paving. Completion estimate this month.
• Second project — Grading, drainage, and construction of a concrete I beam bridge from near SR-287 in Warren County to near SR-281 in Cannon County. Completion expected in December 2013.
“Basically, the project making the three-year list will put the final paving on these two staged construction projects that are under way or nearing completion right now,” said Flynn.
The three-year transportation program features approximately $1.5 billion in infrastructure investments for 96 individual project phases in 55 counties, as well as 10 statewide programs.
