They say the third time’s the charm, but Tourism Development Board members are hoping that two will do it. A second search for an administrator has begun.
McMinnville’s Tourism Development Board met this week and approved a revised scope of work for an administrator and voted to begin a renewed search to fill that position. The job will be contract labor with that individual seeking grant opportunities and overseeing board endeavors.
“This is the revised scope of work for the administrator,” said TDB chair Sarah Cantrell. “Attached to it is the original one.”
The two-page document was condensed down to less than one. It contains two paragraphs and bullet points listing five functions/ duties and three qualifications.
“I like this,” said board member Christy Ross. “It’s more user friendly. It says the same thing, but it’s easier to understand.”
Cantrell replied, “It’s a more condensed down version.”
Members posted a request for proposals on June 28 seeking an administrator. The contract position has a bid limit not to exceed $30,000. After more than four months, two deadline extensions, and widening advertising efforts, only one application was received. In November, members voted to close that search, revise the scope of work, and begin again.
The administrator position will be advertised on the city of McMinnville’s website and in the Southern Standard.
The application deadline was set for Feb. 1.
