Failing to heed the warning of police has cost a woman a smuggling charge as she faces numerous criminal counts from what began as a traffic stop for not wearing a seatbelt.The woman, Mary Elizabeth Tanner, 30, has been bound to the grand jury on charges of criminal impersonation, resisting arrest, possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia, driving on a revoked license and introduction of drugs into a penal institution.Her charges come after she was pulled over by McMinnville Patrolman Ben Cantrell for not wearing a seatbelt. It was at that point she began piling up criminal charges when she told him her name was Brenda Bess. It was not long before the officer figured out her real name was Mary Tanner, an infraction she admitted to when she was confronted with the allegation of lying to the officer.
