Taking aim at new armory

Warren County has purchased 23 acres located at 5839 Manchester Highway in preparation for building a new $11.6 million National Guard Armory on the site. The total price was $450,000, or $19,565 per acre.The land is located adjacent to the Security Federal branch on Manchester Highway and Kidd Ford Lincoln-Mercury.County Executive John Pelham says the land purchase is the first step in a long process.“It’s something we’ve been working on for a long time,” Pelham said. “The money for the property was in last year’s budget.
