The Warren County School System will play host to a Healthy Choices for Youth 2012 summit meeting Jan. 2, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Warren County Middle School auditorium.Sponsored by Homeland Community Bank and presented by the National Center for Youth Issues, the summit features approximately 90 school guidance counselors, school nurses, social workers, school psychologists and other support professionals representing 13 schools in Warren County. They will join in discussions concerning hot-button issues facing their students: Specifically, the growing incidence of anxious and depressed children and adolescents. Kim “Tip” Frank, LPC from Rock Hill, S.C., a suburb of Charlotte, will speak on the troubling rise of depressed and anxious children in the classroom.
