Streetlights to brighten the way to Warren County High School, as well as in front of it, are slated to be replaced by the city of McMinnville to ease concerns of diminished lighting in that area.Public Works director Bill Brock informed members of the city’s Streets and Sanitation Committee last week he has requested McMinnville Electric System to replace the streetlights that were removed by WCHS.Specifically, 66 streetlights will be returned: 60 on South Chancery Street and Liberty Lane to the traffic light at Morrison Street, and six on the off-ramp at Vervilla Road from the traffic light on Morrison Street to the three-way stop. Brock says the streetlights will replace every light that was removed when the overall number of city streetlights was reduced in order to lower the city’s electric bill and free funds in the Street Aid budget for street paving.“This will get everything that was lit before on Chancery and Vervilla,” said Brock. “I’m asking them to use LED lights on the entire project and use photocells to control the on/ off times.
