Storm brings 5.11 inches of rain

The National Weather Service has confirmed an EF0 tornado struck Bedford County on Monday and there are reports from an eyewitness a tornado touched down in Warren County.Local resident Jeff Coppinger told WSMV he saw a tornado touch down on Bethany Road not far from his home around 4:30 p.m. Monday. Weather officials have not confirmed a tornado in Warren County.Tornado or not, Monday’s storm soaked the area with a downpour of rain. According to McMinnville Water Plant, which keeps official rainfall totals, the area received 5.11 inches of rain beginning around 6 a.m. Monday morning.According to Road Superintendent Levie Glenn, his department was busy clearing trees from roadways and dealing with water issues.
