SEVIERVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Fourth-grade students in Sevier County are receiving a guide book from Great Smoky Mountains National Park, LeConte Lodge and Great Smoky Mountains Association.

The book is "Day Hikes of the Smokies" and copies were given in honor of the National Park Service Centennial.

LeConte Lodge President William B. Stokely IV said the company hopes to encourage families to spend time hiking and exploring the park.

The park service said fourth-graders nationwide can obtain a pass for free access to students and their families to federally managed lands and waters. The passes are available at http://www.everykidinapark.gov .
