Girl dies, mother injured in Tennessee house fire

CENTERVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Officials say a 6-year-old Tennessee girl has died and her mother was injured in an early morning house fire.

News outlets report the fire started early Monday at a Hickman County home in the Lyles community.

Hickman County Fire Chief Toby Warren confirmed to WSMV-TV that the girl died in the fire. Authorities say the girl's mother was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center and another adult and two children were able to escape without injury.

No further information was immediately available.
