Stanley sentences nine in circuit court

Sentences were handed down by Circuit Court Judge Bart Stanley during the court’s regular criminal session. Included in circuit sentencing:• Matthew J. Haycox was ordered to serve 90 days of a four-year sentence for aggravated assault.• Carl Junior Thompson was ordered to serve three years and make $235 restitution for passing a forged instrument.• Gary Lee Johnson was given a one-year sentence for theft and illegal possession of a credit card. He must also make $419 restitution.• Anthony Vause was ordered to serve 74 days of a two-year sentence and make $200 restitution for theft.• Stephen M. Pennington must serve one year for unlawful possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.• Thomas Andy Miller was given an 11-month, 29-day probationary sentence and must perform 100 hours public service work for theft.• Steven Charles Robbins was given an 11-month, 29-day probationary sentence for theft and assault.• Kyle Melson must serve 45 days for violating in his probation on his former conviction on the charge of theft.• Craig Edward Palmer had his probation extended by six months and will be allowed to serve 28 days in inpatient rehab for violating his probation on his prior conviction on the charge of vandalism.
