There are some beautiful Christmas trees displayed in Warren County and the Standard wants to put pictures of some of them in the newspaper.
That’s why we’re encouraging local residents to send us their best Christmas tree photo for a chance to get it published and win a free newspaper subscription in the process.
The contest is simple. It all starts with snapping a picture of your tree and sending it to us by email at If you don’t have email, you can bring the picture by our office at 105 College Street, or mail it to P.O. Box 150, McMinnville, TN 37111.
“We’re hoping to receive a bunch of pictures,” said Standard publisher Patricia Zechman. “Just about everyone sets up a Christmas tree and most of them look very nice so it’s going to be tough to determine a winner.”
Standard employees will determine three finalists and then let online voting determine the order of finish. Pictures of the three finalists will be posted at with voting scheduled to take place Dec. 17-23. The winners will be announced Dec. 29.
First place will get a one-year subscription. Second place will get a six-month subscription and third place will get  three-month subscription.
