NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Temperatures are tumbling in Tennessee and precipitation is expected to fall — much of it in the form of snow.
The National Weather Service has posted a winter weather advisory for most of the state east of Nashville.
However, forecasters say snow showers are likely statewide Thursday and Thursday night and accumulating snow is expected in Middle Tennessee and East Tennessee.
Up to a half-inch was forecast for Thursday in Nashville and another half-inch is possible overnight.
The prediction for Cookeville was 1-3 inches during daytime hours and maybe an inch more overnight.
An inch or less was predicted for the Tri-Cities and Knoxville. Chattanooga expects just snow showers.
Low 20s to mid-20s temperatures were expected statewide by Friday morning.
