A man who terrorized his neighbors with a wrench, a gun and a golf club will serve two years in prison.The man, Charles Wayne Smithson Jr., entered best interest pleas before Circuit Court Judge Bart Stanley to charges of reckless endangerment with a shotgun and false imprisonment. A third count charging felony assault was dropped to simple assault. He was directed to serve a total of two years for the trio of convictions with all the sentences to run together.Smithson’s problems with his neighbors in the Civic Center neighborhood led to all three of the charges, the top one being his pointing a shotgun at his neighbor’s home claiming he had a problem with them when police arrived.
