The Warren County Senior Center has two programs this month that could be of interest to seniors.The first is a seminar on Medicare Part D for seniors whose monthly income before deductions is $1,351.25 for singles, or $1,838.75 for couples, and whose assets are below $12,640 for singles, or $25,260 for couples. These seniors may qualify for extra help paying for their premiums, deductible and co-pays with the Medicare Drug Benefit.A SHIP representative will be at the Warren County Senior Center, located at 809 Morrison Street, this Thursday, Aug. 11, from 9 to 11:30 a.m. to assist them in applying for extra help, comparing drug plans and enrolling in drug plans.The next program will be Aug. 23 at 10 a.m. At that time Gail Evans, a volunteer coordinator with Caris Healthcare’s Volunteer Program, will be at the Senior Center.“All of us can make a difference by performing small acts of kindness,” says Evans. “Often people fail to realize the impact a gentle touch, a kind word, or a listening ear can have.
