Still unhappy with the Warren County Commission flexing its muscle and taking over school finances, the Warren County Board of Education is appealing the move to the state legislature. In a unanimous vote, the School Board granted the go ahead to join the Tennessee School Board Association in asking the Tennessee General Assembly to overturn the 1981 Act. That act, which went into effect locally in July, stripped the school system of handling its own finances. The financial office for the school system is now centralized with the county’s overall financial system.
