A man who ran from police in a stolen pickup has been indicted on a laundry list of charges. The suspect, Jeffery Lynn Roberts, 34, was indicted on charges of aggravated assault, felony theft, evading arrest and second-offense driving on a revoked license. His indictment comes after police responded to a report of a 2004 Ford 150 being stolen from a residence on Lance Street. A short time later, McMinnville police officer Jared Jacobs said he saw the vehicle.“The stolen vehicle was on Sparta Street and I observed it turn onto Hot Wheels Lane,” Jacobs said in his warrant against Roberts. “Then the driver bailed out of the vehicle and ran into the tall grass and weeds and laid down.”The officer said Roberts did not respond to his commands to show himself.“He kept crawling on his stomach in the weeds and was finally arrested,” Jacobs said, noting it was later determined the man had been armed.
