McMinnville Public Works employees began minor improvements to Rocket Park on Wednesday. Upgrades are under way to improve river access.“We are placing gravel down to the water and installing a better parking area for people to use when they use the area,” said McMinnville Mayor Norman Rone. “We really haven’t spent any money, except for paying the salary for city employees to do the work.”Future efforts could include upgrades to the playground equipment, widening the ramp into the river, and relocating a sitting area placed by Rotary International in 2010.
