A ribbon cutting ceremony was held at Riverfront Park last week to celebrate the completion of renovation.“This project was a long time in the making,” said McMinnville Parks and Recreation director Scott McCord. McCord thanked Mayor Jimmy Haley, city aldermen, Tennessee Wildlife Resource Agency, Tri-State Development and staff for getting the job done.“It took the mayor bringing all parties together and making it a priority,” McCord said.Since 2009, the city has been working on obtaining a grant with TWRA to renovate the park. After approximately four years, a grant totaling $86,995 with a 20 percent match was used to hire Tri-State.Renovation work began in late August and was complete last month.
