Park Theatre Group members have scheduled a construction kickoff celebration for Park Theatre renovation. The event will take place this Thursday, April 10, from 4 to 6 p.m. on The Lot on Court Square.
While local residents have waited a long time to see the Park Theatre return to the downtown attraction it once was, group members are watching a 10-year dream come true, says Park Theatre Group president David Marttala.
“We have waited over 10 years for this project to come to fruition,” Marttala said. “Now is the time and the Park Theatre Group couldn’t be more excited to watch this happening for our community. We can’t wait to see what the future will hold for the Park Theatre.”
Everyone is encouraged to join the party and celebrate the fact renovation has begun. The event will feature live entertainment, free popcorn and drinks, special guest appearances and door prizes.
Whyte Noyse is slated to perform. Local artists Joe Harvey, Grif Winton and Josh Wanamaker will also be performing an acoustic set to help showcase local talent in Warren County.
Park Theatre Group is a 501(c)3 organization dedicated to the revitalization of Park Theatre. Members are working alongside McMinnville officials, who borrowed $2 million to renovate the building into a multi-use facility that can be used for concerts, theatrical productions, workshops, dance recitals, graduation ceremonies, receptions and classic movie matinees.
The construction celebration is free and open to the public.
