The Scott Smith era began in explosive fashion Friday night in Smithville. The WCHS football team used flashy TD runs from Bryson Lewis and Rickie King to capture a high-scoring victory on the road, 34-30.Pioneer quarterback Christian Wilkinson had a productive game in his first varsity start as he ran for two TDs and threw for another. Combined with a 73-yard TD run from Lewis and a 60-yarder from King, it was enough to put WCHS over the top against DeKalb County. The win gives Warren County a 1-0 start for the first time since 2010. It also matches the team’s victory total for all of last year. After falling behind 10-0, the Pioneers went on a 34-7 run to take a commanding lead.
