One person is dead after gunfire erupted outside Arms Apartments Friday night during a confrontation outside H-building.Dead is Rofino "Junior" Soto, 28. He died from a single gunshot wound to the chest, passing away as emergency crews were waiting to fly him out for treatment.The man who allegedly pulled the trigger, Herbert Conley, 51, is claiming self-defense and has not been charged with a crime as police continue investigating the Friday night shooting.The incident happened around 9:30 p.m. at Arms Apartments, which is located next to NHC off Old Smithville Highway. Police are being given two dramatically different stories concerning the shooting, one by Conley and another by friends and relatives of the deceased man.Conley contends he was at the complex visiting with family members when he was accosted by several people in the parking lot.
