Officials to review roofing bids for Park

McMinnville officials will be considering more renovation costs to Park Theatre on Tuesday night. The bids are in for the roof, which was not included in the bids for the building’s renovation.
Three bids were received, with the lowest being $68,737, to provide roof reconstruction services for the covering of the existing roof of the existing Park Theatre building, as well as alternate bids to remove and reset/ replace clay tile roof caps.
The bids:
• Rackley Roofing out of Carthage submitted a base bid of $63,623 and an alternate bid of $5,114 for a total bid of $68,737.
• Harkins Roofing out of Cookeville submitted a base bid of $70,502 and an alternate bid of $12,500 for a total bid of $83,002.
• Porter Roofing in Warren County submitted a base bid of $136,150 and an alternate bid of $2,000 for a total bid of $138,150.
Bids were opened at City Hall on Oct. 10 at 3 p.m. Officials must now review the bids to determine which is the lowest and best.
The roof was not included in the facility’s renovation bid. The building will cost slightly more than $2 million, which includes $328,673 for the basement, rear addition, bathrooms, terrazzo repair and orchestra pit.
With the addition of the roof, the cost for renovation has reached almost $2.1 million.
